Venice Township is located in Madison County, Illinois, in the United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 5,650 and it contained 2,728 housing units.[2]

History

Venice Township was named from the village of Venice in 1876.[3]

Geography

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 14.3 square miles (37 km2), of which 10.82 square miles (28.0 km2) (or 75.66%) is land and 3.48 square miles (9.0 km2) (or 24.34%) is water.[2]
