The incumbent is Republican Greg Gianforte, who was reelected with 50.9% of the vote in 2018.[1] He is running for Governor of Montana a second time in the 2020 election after having lost the 2016 election to incumbent Democrat Steve Bullock, which means that the contest for the U.S. House of Representatives will be an open race.[2]
