Due to the Auditor being a constitutional office, the Auditor works out of the state's capital city of Helena. The Chamber of Commerce of Montana monitors the work that the Auditor does.[2][3]

The Auditor of the state of Montana's job is similar to that of many other states. Through the Auditor, residents can renew insurance, apply for business-operating licenses, and other work that requires licensing through the state government. The auditor is an executive officer, being part of the cabinet of the Governor, and manages tax revenue.[4][5].
