Lassell is an impact crater in the Coprates quadrangle of Mars, located at 20.9°S latitude and 62.5°W longitude and lies nearly inside the Thaumasia Planum. It is 92.0 km in diameter and was named after William Lassell, and the name was approved in 1973.[1]
Nearby craters include Arima to the north, Saravan to the east-northeast, Ibragimov to the south-southeast and Martin to the west. West of Lassell are the ridges of Felis Dorsa and east are Nectaris Fossae.
