Lambert is an impact crater in the Sinus Sabaeus quadrangle of Mars, located at 20.2°S latitude and 334.7°W longitude. It is 92.0 km in diameter and was named after Johann Heinrich Lambert, and the name was approved in 1973.[1]
Nearby named craters include Bouguer which is not far to the northeast, Bakhuysen to the west-southwest and the large Flaugergues to the northwest. Also southwest close to Bakhuysen are the scopuli (escarpments) of Scylla and Charybdis which are named after the Greek mythical figures.
