Rajabagan is a neighbourhood located in the southern part of Kolkata city, in the state of West Bengal, India. It is located on the eastern bank of Hooghly river and is situated between Metiabruz (east) and Badartala (west).

Police district

Rajabagan police station is part of the Port division of Kolkata Police. Located at T-250 Garden Reach Road, Kolkata-700044, it has jurisdiction over the police district which is bordered on the north starting from a point where the extended western boundary of Nadial road (Rail line Road) meets the north boundary of Garden Reach mouza thence eastward along the north boundary, of mouza Garden Reach (i.e. the southern bank of river Hugli) up to the point where it meets the western limit of Nikashi Khal; on the east starting from the junction point of western limit of Nikashi Khal and the southern bank of River Hugli (or northern boundary of mouza Garden Reach), thence proceed southwards along western limit of the Nikashi Khal up to the point where it meets the southern boundary of Garden Reach Road thence eastwards along the southern boundary of Garden Reach Road up to the point where it meets the western limit of Merry Road, thence southwards along the western limit of Merry Road up to the point where it meets the southern limit of Akra Road, thence proceed north-eastwards along the southern boundary of Akra Road up to its meeting point with the western limit of Simpukur Lane thence southwards along the western limit of Simpukur Lane and Santoshpur Road up to the southern boundary of mouza-Garden Reach; on the south by the outer boundaries of mouza Garden Reach; and on the west starting from a point on the southern boundary of S.A. Faroquie Road (Akra Road) where Garden Reach mouza meets S.A.Faroquie Road (Akra Road) thence north-eastwards along the southern boundary of S.A.Faroquie Road (Akra Road) up to a point where it meets the western limit of Kanthal Beria Road (Railway line Road) thence northwards along the western boundary of Kantal Beria Road (Railway line Road) and Nadial Road up to a point where it meets the north boundary of mouza Garden Reach or the southern bank of the River Hugli.[2]

Watgunge Women police station, located at 16, Watgunge Street, Kolkata-700023, covers all police districts under the jurisdiction of the Port division i.e. North Port, South Port, Watgunge, West Port, Garden Reach, Ekbalpur, Nadial, Rajabagan and Metiabruz.[2]

Jadavpur, Thakurpukur, Behala, Purba Jadavpur, Tiljala, Regent Park, Metiabruz, Nadial and Kasba police stations were transferred from South 24 Parganas to Kolkata in 2011. Except Metiabruz, all the police stations were split into two. The new police stations are Parnasree, Haridevpur, Garfa, Patuli, Survey Park, Pragati Maidan, Bansdroni and Rajabagan.[3]
