Baishnabghata Patuli is a township located in the southern part of east Kolkata in West Bengal, India. It constitutes a major portion of Garia. Baishnaghata Patuli Township is a World Bank–funded project on the eastern fringes of EM Bypass, currently one of the most promising parts of south Kolkata. It has a fire station, police station, bus stand, bank ATMs, Kavi Subhas Metro Station, Shahid Khudiram metro station, and many world class hospitals nearby like Apex and Peerless, as well as entertainment areas like Metropolis Mall and Inox Cinemas. It also has two local train stations, Baghajatin Station and New Garia Station.It may be called the cleanest part of the city, with wide roads and good connectivity via train,metro & bus routes.It is also has lots of greenery and lakes that diversifies the beauty of the area keeping in background the well planned housing complexes that is predominant in this part of the city.

Police district

Patuli police station is in the South Suburban division of Kolkata Police.[1]

Located at H-10 Baishnabghata-Patuli Township, PO Panchasayar, Kolkata-700094, it has jurisdiction over the police district, which is bordered on the north, starting from the junction point of the eastern limit of Raja Subodh Chandra Mullick Road and the southern limit of Baghajatin StationRoad, thence eastwards along the southern limit of Baghajatin Station Road up to the point where extended Baghajatin station road meets the eastern limit of the railway line; on the east, starting from a point where the extended southern limit of Baghajatin Station road meets the eastern limit of railway line, thence southwards along the eastern limit of the railway line up to south-east corner of mouza-Briji; on the south, starting from a point where the eastern limit of railway line meets the south-east corner of mouza-Briji, thence along westwards by the outer boundaries of mouza-Briji up to the point where it meets the northern limit of Tolly's Nala thence westwards along the northern limit of Tolly's Nala up to eastern limit of Raja Subodh Chandra Mullick Road; on the west starting from the junction point of the northern limit of Tolly's Nala and eastern limit of Raja Subodh Chandra Mullick Road, thence northwards along the eastern limits of Raja Subodh Chandra Mullick Road up to the point where it meets the southern limit of Baghajatin Station Road.[1]

Patuli Women police station, at the same address, has jurisdiction over all police districts under the jurisdiction of South Suburban Division i.e. Netaji Nagar, Jadavpur, Kasba, Regent Park, Bansdroni, Garfa and Patuli.[1]

Jadavpur, Thakurpukur, Behala, Purba Jadavpur, Tiljala, Regent Park, Metiabruz, Nadial and Kasba police stations were transferred from South 24 Parganas to Kolkata in 2011. Except Metiabruz, all the police stations were split into two. The new police stations are Parnasree, Haridevpur, Garfa, Patuli, Survey Park, Pragati Maidan, Bansdroni and Rajabagan.[2]

Shops and Restaurants

Patuli recently has many shops and restaurants, Sheli's Clothing Store located just beside mother dairy milk booth is a unique and exclusive boutique store for fine women's and men's wear. Sheli's expertise is in unique and exclusive traditional Bengal hand loom sarees. A unique and must visit store if you are in Patuli. There are many multi-cuisine restaurants in BP Township like Palki, Nesha's Kitchen, Chowman and Bell Pepper near the No. 45 bus-stand, Sholo-Ana Bangali Restaurant near the fire brigade, Macchranga beside Patuli Police Station, Bhooter Raja dilo bor[3] near fire station,Food Court, and Illusion in Metropolis Mall.

Small sweet shops like Nnoni,Giriraj,Palace of Sweets,Madhumalancha,etc serve the day to day needs of the people of the area.

Besides there is a cafeteria opposite the State Bank ATM called Muzik Cafe which is a rather good proxy for Coffee House!

A Mio Amore outlet is also located just beside the State Bank ATM which is a high functioning food shop.

Recently the very attractive floating market of Kolkata has been built at Patuli which is the first floating market of India with 280 shops housed on 114 boats.
