Haridevpur is a neighbourhood of South West Kolkata in Kolkata district in the Indian state of West Bengal.

Geography

Police district

Haridevpur police station is part of the South West division of Kolkata Police. Located at 559 Mahatma Gandhi Road, Kolkata-700082, it has jurisdiction over the police district which is bordered on the north starting from the junction point of the eastern limit of James Long Sarani and the southern limit of Raja Rammohan Roy Road, thence eastwards along the southern limit of Raja Rammohan Roy Road up to the junction of eastern limit of Basanta Lal Saha Road and southern limit of Raja Rammohan Roy Road, thence up to the point on the eastern limit of Tolly’s Nala, nearest to the meeting point of Basanta Lal Saha Road and Raja Rammohan Roy Road; on the east starting from a point on the eastern side of Tolly’s Nala nearest to the junction of Raja Rammohan Roy Road and Basanta Lal Saha Road, thence southwards along the eastern boundaries of Tolly’s Nala, Keorapukur Khal up to a point, where it meets the northern limit of mouza Krishnanagar, thence along the outer boundaries of mouza Krishnanagar, Ramkantapur, Jiadargot, Ramjibanpur and Magurkhali; on the south by the outer boundaries of mouza Magurkhali, Ramjibanpur, Sajnaberia, Gopalnagar, Kalua and Hanspukuria up to a point, where it meets the eastern boundary of Diamond Harbour Road; and on the west starting from a point on the eastern side of Diamond Harbour Road, where it meets the southern boundary of mouza Hanspukuria thence northwards along the eastern boundary of Diamond Harbour Road up to the point where it meets the eastern boundary of James Long Sarani, thence northwards along the eastern boundary of James Long Sarani up to the point, where it meets the southern boundary of Raja Rammohan Roy Road.[1]

Behala Women police station, located at the same address as above, covers all police districts under the jurisdiction of the South West division i.e. Sarsuna, Taratala, Behala, Parnasree, Thakurpukur and Haridevpur.[1]

Jadavpur, Thakurpukur, Behala, Purba Jadavpur, Tiljala, Regent Park, Metiabruz, Nadial and Kasba police stations were transferred from South 24 Parganas to Kolkata in 2011. Except Metiabruz, all the police stations were split into two. The new police stations are Parnasree, Haridevpur, Garfa, Patuli, Survey Park, Pragati Maidan, Bansdroni and Rajabagan.[2]
