Visitors to Sudan must obtain a visa from one of the Sudanese diplomatic missions unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries. All visitors must hold passports valid for a minimum of 6 months from the arrival date.

Visa exemption

Citizens of the following 6 countries can visit Sudan without a visa:

1 month

Nationals of  Saudi Arabia do not require a visa for business visits.

Citizens of the following countries can visit Sudan without a visa for two months with invitation letter from Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

Holders of diplomatic or official/service/special passports issued to nationals of Algeria, China, Brazil, Congo, Ethiopia, Iran, Namibia, Turkey and Vietnam and holders of diplomatic passports of South Sudan do not require a visa for Sudan.[1]

Visa waiver agreement for diplomatic passports was signed with Russia and it is yet to come into force.[2]

Visa on arrival

Citizens of the following countries may obtain a visa for Sudan on arrival, valid for 2 months:[3]

1 — valid for 30 days
2 — valid for 1 month and only if arriving directly from Turkey

Holders of diplomatic or service passports of China and holders of diplomatic passports of Algeria (90 days) can obtain a visa for Sudan on arrival.

Persons with a Sudanese parent as well as spouses of Sudanese citizens can obtain visa on arrival regardless of their current nationality.

Mandatory Police Registration for all nationalities is required within 24 hours of arrival [4][5]

Admission Refused

Entry and transit is refused to Israel Israeli citizens, even if not leaving the aircraft and proceeding by the same flight.[6]

Admission is also refused to holders of passports or travel documents containing a visa or entry stamp issued by Israel.[7]

Entry and transit is also refused to holders of normal passports issued to nationals of  Bangladesh unless they are arriving for commercial delegations or as students studying at a Sudanese institute of higher education or university and holding a residence permit.[8]
