Visa policy of Djibouti

All visitors to Djibouti, unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries mentioned below, must obtain a visa on arrival to Djibouti or from one of the Djiboutian diplomatic missions prior to arrival.

Visa exemption

Nationals of  Singapore do not require a visa for Djibouti.[1]

Nationals of  China holding normal passports for public affairs also do not require a visa.

Visa waiver agreement for diplomatic adr service passports was signed with  Kenya in May 2018 and it is yet to come into force.[2]

Visa on arrival

Visas on arrival are issued at the discretion of the Djibouti immigration authority. Passengers with a passport valid for a minimum of 6 months from the arrival date can obtain a visa on arrival. They must hold a return/onward ticket.[3] Visas are issued for stays of up to 1 month, 3 months or 6 months.[4]

eVisa

On 18 February 2018 the Government of Djibouti introduced an eVisa system for foreign visitors intended to replace the visa on arrival system. Visitors can apply for a transit visa valid for 3 days or a single entry visit visa valid for 31 days. Visitors with a passport valid for a minimum of 6 months from the arrival date can obtain a visa on arrival and they must hold a return/onward ticket and a proof of accommodation. eVisas are issued only for tourism or commerce purposes.[5]

Restrictions

Admission and transit refused to holders of  Eritrea passport.
