In accordance with the law, citizens of all countries require a visa to visit Iraq.[1]

Visa on arrival

Nationals of the following countries may obtain a visa on arrival at Al Najaf International Airport:

1-may obtain a visa on arrival at Baghdad International Airport

Non-ordinary passports

visa not required for Nationals of  Kuwait and  Turkey holding diplomatic or service passports

visa not required for nationals of  China holding diplomatic passports

A visa exemption agreement for holders of diplomatic and service passports was signed with  Syria and it is yet to enter into force.[2]

Iraqi origin

visa not required if Iraq as place of birth in passport or having birth certificate issued by Iraq

visa not required if having national ID card issued by Iraq

visa on arrival for people younger than 18 years can obtain a visa on arrival They must travel with their parents and at least one of the parents must hold an Iraqi passport.

visa on arrival for Iraqi origin or having Iraqi parents can obtain a visa on arrival. Proof is a copy of the national ID card, of the passport or of the birth certificate of the parent.

visa on arrival if married to a national of Iraq arriving at Basra (BSR) can obtain a visa on arrival. They must have an original Iraqi marriage certificate or an approved marriage certificate issued by an Iraqi embassy.

Iraqi Kurdistan

Visitors to Iraqi Kurdistan arriving through the Erbil International Airport or Sulaimaniyah International Airport may enter visa-free for up to 30 days (unless otherwise noted) if being holders of one of the following passports: [4]
