Vinayagapuram is a residential area near Puzhal, one of the Northern Suburbs of Chennai City, Tamil Nadu. The main thoroughfares in the area are round ring road near Lucas Tvs junction which connects all the four places like Padi,New Avadi road, Anna nagar, Puzhal.Vinayagapuram has been attached to chennai corporation in the year 2011.it is one of the fast developing place.rate of lands are getting higher in a rocket speed. Neighbourhoods close to Vinayagapuram are Perambur, Anna Nagar, Villivakkam, Puzhal, Jawahar Nagar, Thiru-vi-ka Nagar, Senthil Nagar, Madhavaram and Periyar Nagar. It is close to the Grand North Trunk Road(GNT)which connects to Grand South trunk(GST).

Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) runs passenger buses to Vinayagapuram from other major parts of the Chennai city. Government has allotted place for bus terminus near by Vinayagapuram bus stand. The Bus routes operated from here are 142 to Broadway, 29 ext to Mandaveli. Though the frequency of buses is less from vinayagapuram bus terminus, a number of buses from Redhills can be boarded at Vinayagapuram bus stop. Buses from redhills are 242 (redhills to broadway), 113 (redhills to guindy),42C(parrys to teacher's colony),142P(Perambur to Puthagaram). Share Autos play an important role for transportation here. As there is no railway line passing through Vinayagapuram, residents normally go to villivakam or Perambur (nearest railway station) to travel in trains.
