Sundar Haraicha Municipality (Nepali: सुन्दर हरैचा) is an urban municipality out of total 9 urban municipalities located in Morang District of Province No. 1 in Nepal.

Sundar Haraicha has an area of 110 square kilometres (42 sq mi) and total population of the municipality is 80,621 as of Census of Nepal 2011.[1] The municipality established on 10 March 2017 merging two former municipalities, Sundar Dulari and Koshi Haraicha as per new rule of Nepal for local bodies.[2] [3]

Sundar Dulari Municipality

Sundar Dulari was a Municipality in Morang District in the Kosi Zone of south-eastern Nepal. The municipality was formed by the Government of Nepal merging two villages i.e. Sundarpur and Dulari in May 2014.[4][5]

At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 6860 people living in 1262 individual households.[6]

Koshi Haraicha

Koshi Haraicha was a municipality in Morang District in the Kosi Zone of south-eastern Nepal. Earlier, the municipality was formed merging the three existing villages, Haraicha, Mrigaulia, and Indrapur, in May 2014.[7][8]

At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 10,592 living in 1,930 households.[9]

Development

'Sundar Haraincha Municipality' consists of number of small and big towns with proper electricity, transportation and drinking water supply. There are number of hospitals for health care and treatments. Biratnagar airport is roughly 25 KM away which serves air transportation service.
