Madarihat-Birpara (community development block) is an administrative division in Alipurduar subdivision of Alipurduar district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Madarihat and Birpara police stations serve this block. Headquarters of this block is at Madarihat.[1][2]

Madarihat is located at 26°42′00″N 89°16′59″E / 26.700°N 89.283°E / 26.700; 89.283.

Madarihat-Birpara community development block has an area of 380.96  km2.[2]

Demographics

As per 2011 Census of India Madarihat CD Block had a total population of 202,026 of which 188,265 were rural and 13,761 were urban. There were 101,536 males and 100,490 females. Scheduled Castes numbered 28,813 and Scheduled Tribes numbered 78,314.[4]

Literacy

As per 2011 census the total number of literates in Madarihat CD Block was 120,391, out of which 67,717 were males and 52,674 were females.[4]
