The William Garrett Plantation is a Southern plantation with a historic house located near the town of San Augustine in San Augustine County, Texas. The house was is "Texas frontier architecture" with some elements of Greek Revival and is notable for its "grandiose" scale.[2]
It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.[1]
It was built with slave labor in 1861, with lumber from a Garrett saw mill and with rock from a Garrett quarry. It faced on the main road through the area, the El Camino Real-Kings Highway, and is now about .25 miles (0.40 km) away from the main road due to road realignment.[2]
