Jattari is a town and a Nagar Panchayat in Khair Tehsil of Aligarh district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It lies on Khair – Palwal road 20 km ahead from Khair towards Palwal.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[1] Jattari had a population of 17,038. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. Jattari has an average literacy rate of 58%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 69%, and female literacy is 45%. Native youth of town keep shifting to major cities of India for higher studies & better employment while people from surrounded villages also migrating towards town. In Jattari, 18% of the population is under 6 years of age. Surrounded villages of Jattari are considered as primarily jaat dominated while the town has a mix-up of multiple castes, Muslims are less in numbers. The major highway i.e Yamuna Express- way which connect Agra to Noida is just 8 km drive away from the town.
