The 2017 Santiago South Cup final was the final of the 2016–17 Santiago South Cup.[1]
In Cape Verde, the finals were televised live on TCV and listened on radio on RCV.
Neither teams qualified into the 2017 Cape Verdean Cup which has now became cancelled.
Background
Sporting Praia started at the First Round while Garridos started at the Round of 8.
Yet again, it is another season where clubs, participants of the Regional Premier Division competed at the cup final.
Sporting Praia had reached the regional cup final around 10+ times, winning about ten of them. The last time they won a championship title was last season in 2014 where they defeated Tchadense. Os Garridos never played a regional cup final, also being the only club outside the municipality of Praia to compete.[1]
