As Sporting Praia is an affiliate to Lisbon and Travadores is an affiliate to Benfica. Another Benfica affiliate is in Santiago and is also in Praia and has the same name of Benfica. Sporting Praia is also rival to Benfica Praia.

The rivalry is the second longest in Cape Verde after the Mindelo derby. The Sporting–Travadores rivalry has never challenged at the national championships.
