Tufanganj is a sub-division town and municipality of the Cooch Behar district in the Indian state of West Bengal.
Geography
The river Raidak flows beside the town to the east.
Demographics
As of 2011's Indian census,[1] Tufanganj had a population of 19,293. Males constitute 50.9% of the population whereas females make up 49.1%.
Tufanganj has an average literacy rate of 91.5%, higher than the national average of 74.04%[2]; male literacy is 86%, and female literacy is 77%.
In Tufanganj, 9% of the population is under 6.
Transport

Citizens are mainly dependent on bus services. Both public services and those from the North Bengal State Transport Corporation are available. E-Rickshaw is also available for local transportation within the town. The private sector bus service reaches across Tamil Nadu as well as some city's on Karla and Karnataka. Tufanganj Railway station is situated in the southern part of town.
Education
Secondary and Higher secondary schools are mainly run by state or central Governments. Education is primarily taught in Bengali and English. Schools include N.N.M. High School, Ila Devi Girls' High School, Netaji High School, Harirdham High School and Tufanganj Vibekananda Vidyalaya.
One Bachelor college Tufanganj Mahavidyalaya is situated there. Tufanganj Polytechnic College operates near Chamta. One ITI College is also located near Tufanganj Mahavidyalaya.
Tufanganj Jawaharlal Nehru Navodaya Vidyalaya is a Central School located there.
Sports
Outdoor competitions are organized by the Tufanganj Municipality. The town has one outdoor stadium that is maintained by Sub-divisional Sports Association and one national level swimming pool.

Tufanganj is rich in Bengali culture. It is one of the centers for Bhawaiya song and dance..
