Sitalkuchi

Sitalkuchi (community development block) is an administrative division in Mathabhanga subdivision of Cooch Behar district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Sitalkuchi police station serves this block. Headquarters of this block is at Sitalkuchi.[1][2]

Gram panchayats of Sitai block/ panchayat samiti are: Bara Koimari, Bhawerthana, Chhoto Salbabari, Golenaohati, Gosairhat, Khalisamari, Lalbazar and Sitalkuchi.[3]

Demographics

As per 2011 Census of India Sitalkuchi CD Block had a total population of 185,353, all of which were rural. There were 94,277 males and 91,076 females. Scheduled Castes numbered 101,009 and Scheduled Tribes numbered 259.[4]

Literacy

As per 2011 census the total number of literates in Sitalkuchi CD Block was 112,572 out of which 62,693 were males and 49,879 were females.[4]
