Poyen, Kargil

Poyen is a village vicinity of Kargil town in Kargil district, Ladakh, in India. It is on the bank of the river Suru. The village is one of the most ancient settlements in the region. There are two govt. Schools, govt. High secondary school Poyen and govt. Middle school Mrose.The main areas are Khuddam colony, Grounguk, Shara, Yar, Lati and Hounakit. The population was approximately 1400's.
