Doghat is a town and a Nagar Panchayat in Baghpat district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.

Demographics

As of the 2011 India census, Doghat had a population (Voters) of 17,261.[1] Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. Doghat has an average literacy rate of 57%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 67% and female literacy is 44%. 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Nagar Panchayat

The township Doghat is located in the National Capital Region (NCR) and marks the last police station in the NRC. The Nagar Panchayat has a chairman who is elected by the people of the town. The town is situated 61 km from the national capital, Delhi, 51 km from Sonipat, 61 km from Panipat and 58 km from Meerut. It has a police station, post office, government health center, senior secondary school (Gandhi Smarak Inter College), and two banks. The town is a marketing hub for the nearby villages. Top shop owners here include Rakesh jain tambaku vale, Dr.Aashu verma,Shri Mintu Chat Wala, Kuda Halwai, omi halwai, Lota paan Market,Mr.Govind verma, Ramesh Grocery, Kwarpal Liquids, Kalu Barber, sushil mota (A-one tailor), sintu software engineer and others. This part of Western Uttar Pradesh has a distinct culture owing to its geographical location. A harmonious mixture of the U.P., Harayana and Delhi ways of living is in evidence here. Now the chairman of the town is Mrs. Babita Chaudhry. The motivated person who has changed the views of youth is shri Gaurav panwar (bhai). This town has given some great person to our country like Mr. Saurabh Sharma (deputy commissioner of income tax, Mumbai) , colonel Rohtash prajapati (Indian army), Dr. Gaurav Sharma (MBBS,MD) This town has given a tremendous contribution in the safety of motherland. Many bravehearts of this town are serving for the nation. Some of them are - Shubham Dubey (Indian Army), Amar singh ( territorial army) , kuldeep panwar ( airforce), Mohit Kashyap ( upp). It's colourful and brotherhood culture is the main indentification of this town.
