Tirwa is a town (nagar pancgayat) in Kannauj district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[1] Tirwa had a population of 20,229. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Tirwa has an average literacy rate of 67%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 73%, and female literacy is 61%. In Tirwa, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.
There is one old famous Inter College as D.N.Inter College, started in 1923, with a magnificent college building and hostel founded by King Durga Narayan Singh, located near Annapurna Mandir.
Spiritual Importance
There are two temples which are very important spiritually. 1-Annpurna Temple 2-Dauleshwar Temple
Annpurna temple is related to the deity Annpurna whereas the Dauleshwar temple is related to the Shiva.
