- August 10/11: A tropical wave passed over Cape Verde, it moved generally west-northwestward and crossed a region of colder seas, five days later as it reentered warmer waters further west, it became Hurricane Gordon
- September 26: A low pressure system moved westward and brought rain and thunderstorms to Cape Verde, on the island of Boa Vista, flash floods occurred in Rabil's stream and ruined and washed away the bridge connecting the island capital of Sal Rei and the rest of the island.[3]
