- Companhia Cabo-Verdiana de Seguros, an insurance company opened its headquarters in Praia
- Esperadinha Airport first opened on the island of Brava, the latest air transportation hub opened in Cape Verde
- Mindelo became twinned with Porto, Portugal[1]
- A third series of banknotes issued by the Bank of Cape Verde were introduced in 1992 in denominations of 200, 500 and 1000[2]
- June 15: A Partial lunar eclipse took place and was mainly visible, it occurred for most of the overnight and before sunrise[3]
