Making the announcement during observation of death anniversary of Utkal Gaurab Madhusudan Das, Girish said the objective was to generate Odia pride and love for the language among the younger generation. Mayor Soumendra Ghosh announced that it is mandatory that signboards of all establishments and institutions in the city will have to be in Odia language from April 1.
