The 1964 United States presidential election in Indiana took place on November 3, 1964, as part of the 1964 United States presidential election. Indiana voters chose thirteen[2] representatives, or electors, to the Electoral College, who voted for president and vice president.
Indiana was won by incumbent President Lyndon B. Johnson (D–Texas), with 55.98% of the popular vote, against Senator Barry Goldwater (R–Arizona), with 43.56% of the popular vote.[3][4]
This would be the last time until 2008 that Indiana would vote for a Democrat in a presidential election.
As of the 2016 presidential election, this is the last election in which Allen County, Elkhart County, Howard County, Bartholomew County, Adams County, Brown County, Benton County, Carroll County, Cass County, Clay County, Clinton County, Daviess County, Decatur County, DeKalb County, Fayette County, Fountain County, Franklin County, Grant County, Hancock County, Henry County, Huntington County, Jackson County, Jay County, Jennings County, LaGrange County, Lawrence County, Marshall County, Miami County, Montgomery County, Noble County, Orange County, Parke County, Pulaski County, Putnam County, Randolph County, Ripley County, Shelby County, Tipton County, Union County, Wabash County, Warren County, Wells County, White County, and Whitley County voted for the Democratic candidate.
