List of United States Senators from Arizona
Arizona was admitted to the Union on February 14, 1912. U.S. Senators from Arizona belong to class 1 and class 3 and are popularly elected for a six-year term beginning January 3. Elections are held the first Tuesday after November 1.
Arizona's current senior senator is Republican Jeff Flake (serving since 2013). On September 4, 2018, Jon Kyl, who served as the junior senator from Arizona until 2013, was appointed to fill the class 3 seat, which had been vacant since John McCain's death on August 25, 2018. Kyl has suggested he will serve until the ending of the 115th United States Congress on January 3, 2019.
