Zhdanivka (Ukrainian: Жданівка, Russian: Ждановка) is a city of oblast significance in Donetsk Oblast (province) of Ukraine. Population: 12,352(2013 est.)[1]; 13,688 (2001).

Starting Mid-April 2014 pro-Russian separatists captured several towns in Donetsk Oblast;[2][3] including Zhdanivka.[4] On 16 August 2014, Ukrainian forces reportedly secured the city from the pro-Russian separatists.[5]
