Tawang Air Force station is very much a helipad operating in Arunachal Pradesh.
History
Tawang AFS had been established by the Government of India due to the border security needs of the country from northeastern side where different states especially Arunachal Pradesh share their borders with China. With its status of a heliport, this tiny airport also plays pivotal role to maintain the system for security training, monitoring.
Nearby airports like Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport and Tezpur Airports are located at the distance of 167 and 133 kilometers.[1]
Facilities
As of 2015 only a helipad is active and there are plans to construct a runway.
