Simra Deoghar International Airport (ICAO: IN-0090) is a public airport located at Deoghar, in the state of Jharkhand, India. The airport is spread over 654 acres.
The Jharkhand government signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Airports Authority of India and DRDO in March 2017, to develop the airport, to promote religious tourism in the state.[1]
AAI proposed to upgrade the airport for operation of A-320 type of aircraft at a cost of INR 350 Crore. The upgrade includes extension of existing runway to 2,700 metres, construction of a 5,200 square metre terminal building to handle 200 passengers per hour, a mobile air traffic control, apron, taxiways and an isolation bay. A DVOR/DME navigational facility is also planned.[2]
