Shrikhand is an Indian sweet dish made of strained dahi (yogurt).
Introduction
Shrikhand is a traditional sweet from Maharashtra. It is prepared from ‘hung curd, often called as ‘chakka’in Marathi. It is usually flavoured with saffron ,Nutmeg , Cardamom , Almonds and pistachios. It is enjoyed during festivals with hot puffed puris.
History
Shrikhand has been referred to as "Shikhrini" in the Sanskrit literature. According to Jashbhai B. Prajappati and Baboo M. Nair, it originated in ancient India, around 400 B.C.E.[1]
