City Terminals is a subzone within the planning area of Bukit Merah, Singapore, as defined by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA). Its boundary is made up of the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) in the north; Kampong Bahru Road, Telok Blangah Road, West Coast Highway and Sentosa Gateway in the west; Sentosa in the south; and the Singapore Straits in the east.[1] The upcoming development called Southern Waterfront Gateway will be located within this subzone.
Located within the subzone include the Port of Singapore and Pulau Brani. In the future, it will give more opportunities to create many waterfront districts, each with unique characters and experiences. Plans for the remaining areas such as Labrador, Tanjong Pagar and Pulau Brani, are being explored. It will also represent an opportunity to create a new waterfront city that is integrated with the downtown and the surrounding housing and businesses near the city. The Greater Southern Waterfront could be built up for new housing, commercial, cultural and entertainment uses, cementing Singapore’s growing reputation as a world-class city for its people to live, work and play.
