The 2017–18 Boavista Futebol Clube da Praia season were in the island division of football (soccer).^[1]

Santiago South Premier Division

The first match of the season was a loss to Celtic Praia which ended Boavista's 12 match unbeaten streak at the Premier Division, though this was Boavista's last loss away and last goal conceded away. A two match winning streak was followed, first over the newcomer Tira Chapéu, then over Travadores. Boavista was second place ahead of the mighty clubs of Académica and Sporting and behind Celtic Praia. On November 25, they made a scoreless draw with Sporting in the Capital Derby. Boavista currently went on a two match winning streak, they defeated Ribeira Grande, one of the weakest in Santiago South, then the mighty Académica and the ailing Benfica, they were second with 16 points, behind Celtic and ahead of Praia's other top clubs Académica and Sporting. Two more wins were followed and their results got bigger, a 0-6 win over Eugénio Lima, then 7-3 over ADESBA. They have the most goals scored, 25 in nine rounds. Boavista had no official position as their match with Desportivo which was for December 23 was not been made as no referees showed up, their match was played January 9, a 3-1 win over Desportivo, their 10th round result became officially second behind Académica and is now ahead of Celtic and remains ahead of almighty Sporting. Boavista recently defeated Tchadense with the score 0-2 and overtook Celtic's position of second place at the 11th round, Boavista scored the region's most with 30 goals.

Boavista attempted their battle to keep their second position, it became a kind of awkward as Boavista lost to a lesser powerful club of Celtic 2-1 and lost a position to third place where they are and thus ended their four game winning streak. Another win came as they defeated the newcomer in their second challenge with Tira Chapéu with the result 1-0 and took the second position held by Celtic, they remained to be the leader in goal scoring totaling 32. Boavista met their historically powerful Travadores on February 3 and had a huge win with the score 0-6 and made another match the second highest in Santiago South, their goal total rose to 38, higher than last season at round 14. Boavista toppled Sporting's successful chances as they did last season as they defeated that club 2-1 and was their next win over a club in nearly 10 months. Also Boavista made their 40th goal which is the region's most. Not yet Boavista will make a new goal record at the Premier Division for the season for the third time, this is a small possibility. Académica's next win prevented Boavista from achieving first place and is still second. On February 17, Boavista made their fourth straight win as they defetaed 2-0 over Ribeira Grande and also scored 42 goals which became the third highest for the club, Boavista also had 40 points. Their next challenge was with Académica and attempted to contest for a club record for goal scoring in Santiago South, this slimmed along with their another victory attempt over Académica, they lost 0-1 and thwarted a chance for their club records in goals scoring and points for just a round. Their record chance is still there but most of it in point total and little in goal scoring has been thwarted, also thwarted was their sixth straight win, instead, they made their season's fourth loss. Much of their planned point record and most of their planned goal record disappeared as Boavista made a goal draw with Benfica, little faded as they still had chance for another regional title and a national championship participation alongside Sporting. Boavista Praia finally made another win as they defeated Desportivo at the 19th round and now had 47 goals, became second overall for the club behind theirs made last season. They still had one last chance for winning another regional title. Boavista's next match was with Eugênio Lima and ended in a goal draw, Boavista haf an eight point difference behind Académica, with two rounds to go, what completely disappeared was another regional title for Boavista alongside Celtic. Boavista still had a chance for a club record in wins, in goals or in points, in wins and points, they could only tie it. Boavista's 48 goals now equald to theirs last season. A back to back win came to Boavista as they defeated Bairro 0-3, also Boavista made a goalscoring record of 51. Boavista had one more chance in only tying their record to their last season in wins and goals, they god it at the 22nd round as their final competition of the season was against Tchadense and finished second, the score was 4-1 and also finished with a new record of 55 goals, their club records in points was 51, the same as theirs made last season, also in club records was their 16 wins, another with the same number with their last only made last season.

Also Boavista has its consecutive matches without conceding away at 10. Boavista now also has a 9 match away winning streak.

Santiago South Cup

Boavista attempted to have their successful season at the regional cup, this entirely failed again as they lost the match, this time to AD Ribeira Grande from Cidade Velha at the stadium and is out of the competition.
