The 2017-18 Boa Vista Island League season was the competition of the second-tier football in the island of Boa Vista, Cape Verde. Its started early on December 9 and finished early on March 25. The championships were organized by the Boa Vista Regional Football Association (Associação Regional de Futebol da Boa Vista, ARFBV).[1] Sport Sal Rei Club won their 11th title, it was also the club's third straight, Sal Rei qualified into the 2017 Cape Verdean Football Championships and placed in Group A.
Sport Sal Rei Club was again the defending team of the title. A total of 8 clubs participated in the competition[2] and 193 goals were scored, the highest in several seasons. The last time a high goal scoring season was in 2011 numbering 187.
Overview
Sal Rei scored the most number of goals of the season numbering 35, second was fifth placed Sporting with 31 and third was second placed Africa show with 29, Estância Baixo scored the least with only 10. Estância Baixo conceded the most with 53, second was Juventude with 24.
The top three clubs finished the same position as last season, the last two placed club also finished the same position as last season. On the opposites, Estância Baixo's all matches ended in losses and had the worst season in club history.
