The 2017–18 Santo Antão North Premier Division season was the 30th/31st competition of football and sixth of the Premier Division that took place in the northern part of the island of Santo Antão, Cape Verde. Its started later on December 9[1] and finished on 25 March, the season finished the earliest of any of the country's island leagues. The tournament was organized by the Santo Antão North Regional Football Association (Associação Regional de Futebol de Zona Norte do Santo Antão, ARFZNSA).[2] Os Foguetões won their second championship title, their next in nine years and finished with 22 points, later they are currently participating in the 2018 Cape Verdean Football Championships on April 7, it was also be the second that had three groups each and Os Foguetões was placed in Group B The scheduling were made in September.
Overview
Paulense was the defending team of the title. A total of six clubs participated in the division. A total of 78 goals were scored, fewer than the previous two seasons.
At the end of the season on March 25, Paulense originally finished last, as Santo Crucifixo fielded an ineligible player on an 8th round match, in mid-April, Paulense won the match. Later, Sinagoga finished last place and was the remaining three of the unrelegated clubs in the north of Santo Antāo.
Rosariense scored the most numbering 17, second was Santo Crucifixo with 16 and third was Os Foguetões with 14, the least was Beira Mar who scored 9. On the opposites, Paulense conceded the most with 19, the least was Rosariense with seven.
The championships and the cup competitions took a break until January 6. The championships took a break on the first week of February due to the cup competitions that was taking place as well as the last week of the month, the championships ended a week before the cup final.
