Op 2 mei 2016 kroonde Leicester City zich voor de eerste maal in haar geschiedenis tot kampioen van Engeland, na een 2-2 gelijkspel tussen uittredend kampioen Chelsea en eerste achtervolger Tottenham Hotspur.
