Taller is a commune in the Landes department in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France.
William II Sánchez of Gascony perpetrated a major defeat of the Vikings at Taller in 982 and they vanished as a serious threat thereafter.

Etymology
the origins of the name "Taller" are still uncertain but might come from the English word "tall", which could be related to the altitude of the village from which went from 70 to 90m in 982. Taller used to be called Talleyras.
History
Legends says that in 982 Guillaume Sanche duc of Aquitaine (Gascogne) fought and won against the Normans (Vikings).
During the second world war, Taller used to be a German ammo depot.
Geography
Taller is located in France, in Nouvelle Aquitaine in the Landes near Dax. The pilgrims cross the village
because it's part of the "Chemin de Compostelle".
Economy
In Taller there is a grocery store/ bar, there is a primary school, a football ground, a Tennis ground,
a pizzeria and a music school.
Transport
In Taller there are two bus stops that are used by the students from the "Marie Curie Collège",
"Linxe Collège" and Others. There used to be a train passing near the forest in Taller.
Education
There is a primary school in Taller, however people from over 7 years old must go to another school
located in Lesgor. There is also a Music school next to the primary school.

In Taller there are a few typical houses, and even an old wash house and a XVI century "Saint Barthélemy" church.

In Taller there is a football club, a bowling (pétanque) patch and a tennis ground.Taller also has a boxing club, a Tai-Chi club and a Yoga club.
