Gem TV Asia (sometimes referred to as Sony Gem or simply as Gem) is a pay television channel owned by Sony Pictures Television, a division of Sony Pictures Entertainment. The channel was first launched in Vietnam on 1 January 2014[7] and was subsequently rolled out in other countries in Southeast Asia. The channel broadcasts its programming either dubbed or subtitled in local languages.

In September 2015, Sony Pictures Television and Nippon TV announced that their joint-venture Asian general entertainment channel Gem would roll out across the region on 1 October 2015, while the Vietnamese feed will continue to be wholly owned and operated by SPT Networks.[1]
