Agriculture & Consumer Affairs Committee (Georgia House)

The House Agriculture & Consumer Affairs Committee is a 21 member legislative body consisting of a chairman, a vice-chairman, a secretary, and 18 members. The Committee operates under a House mandate to evaluate legislation that impacts the state's agriculture industry.[1]

Scope and jurisdiction

The House Agriculture & Consumer Affairs Committee is responsible for reviewing all legislation that impacts the agriculture industry, the largest economic industry in Georgia. Other areas under the committee's jurisdiction include human nutrition, consumer consumption of food and associated safety aspects, and the industry around plant nurseries.[1]
