2015–16 Boa Vista Island League

The 2015-16 Boa Vista Island League season was the competition of the second-tier football in the island of Boa Vista, Cape Verde. Its started on 16 January and finished on 8 May 2016. The championships were organized by the Boa Vista Regional Football Association (Associação Regional de Futebol da Boa Vista, ARFBV).^[1] Sport Sal Rei Club won the 9th title and participated into the 2016 Cape Verdean Football Championships.

Académica Operária again was the defending team of the title. A total of 8 clubs participated in the competition^[2]

Overview

A total of 156 goals were scored, ten fewer than the previous season.

Sal Rei scored the most number of goals of the season numbering 30, second was Onze Estrelas who scored 27. Sixth placed Juventude do Norte conceded the most with 32, second was Sanjoanense with 30 and Estância Baixo with 24.

Académica Operária took it at the first week, then Onze Estrelas, Sal Rei first got it at the third round, Sporting had it at the 6th round, Académica Operária retook it at the 7th round, then Onze Estrelas, then Académica Operária retook it for three weeks until Sal Rei retook it at the 12th round and for the remainder of the season.

The championship had a week off in the second week of March due to the parliamentary elections on March 20, the second week of April and the first week of May due to the regional cup competitions.
