Petrophile aculeata is a shrub endemic to Western Australia.[1]

The shrub typically grows to a height of 0.3 to 0.5 metres (1.0 to 1.6 ft). It blooms between October and November producing yellow flowers.

It is found along the west coast of the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia between Coorow and Dandaragan where it grows in sandy soils over laterite.[1]
