Parliamentary Secretaries of the 5th Dáil
On 23 June 1927, the members of the 5th Dáil met for the first time. W. T. Cosgrave was appointed as President of the Executive Council by the Governor-General on the nomination of the Dáil. He proposed the members of the 3rd Executive Council of the Irish Free State, a minority single-party Cumann na nGaedheal government, and they were approved by Dáil Éireann for appointment by the Governor-General. The Parliamentary Secretaries were appointed by the Executive Council.[1]
