Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space

The Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space is a planned department of the European Commission.

Tasks

The new directorate will have tasks transferred from the existing Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW), and the Deputy Director-General will have responsibilities including Financial Management of Space Programmes, Space Policy, Copernicus and Defence, EU Satellite Navigation Programmes, the part of Access to Procurement Markets dealing with defence procurement. The new Directorate-General will share the Resources Directorate with DG GROW Responsible for relations with: European Global Navigation Satellite Systems Agency (GSA).[1]
