Kaboye Alludu (English: Would be Son-in-law) is a 1987 Telugu comedy film, produced by M. Chandra Kumar under the P.V.S. Films banner and directed by Relangi Narasimha Rao.[2] It stars Rajendra Prasad, Chandra Mohan, Shantipriya, Kalpana in the lead roles and music composed by Chakravarthy.[3]

Plot

Govinda Rao (Gollapudi Maruthi Rao) and his wife Meenakshi (Y. Vijaya) are greedy, who want to make their daughter Rekha's (Shantipriya) marriage in a very rich family without giving dowry and also want a huge amount of dowry for their son Prasad (Rajendra Prasad). Prasad is a veterinary doctor who is against taking dowry, he falls in love with a beautiful girl Saroja (Kalpana) who also has the same objectives. So, Govinda Rao secretly takes 10 lakhs dowry from Saroja's father (Suthi Veerabhadra Rao). After their marriage, the truth comes forward when Prasad & Saroja argue with their parents and orders them to give it back, but they do not agree. From that day, they start teasing them in many ways. Meanwhile, Rambabu (Chandra Mohan) and his friend (Suthi Velu) are petty thieves whose livelihood is to make small thefts and cheatings. Meanwhile, marriage broker Maddelapalem Madana Gopala Manmadha Rao (Kaasi Viswanath) brings a rich alliance for Rekha, a man called Rajesh, son of a millionaire, Peddapuram Siddhaiah (Kota Srinivasa Rao). Govinda Rao meets him and finalizes the proposal. At the same time, Siddhaiah has to leave for the states, so, he writes a letter to his son that to stay at Govinda Rao's house until he comes back to study the girl. Unfortunately, the letter goes into the hands of Rambabu, he & his henchman reach Govinda Rao's house as Rajesh & his secretary and fully enjoys. But Rambabu & Rekha truly fall in love. After 3 months, Siddhaiah comes back and lets them out, by the time Rekha is pregnant, so, Siddhaiah cancels the match and goes away. Now they decide to make Rekha's marriage with Rambabu, but he asks for dowry and gives 2 days time. Govinda Rao tries in many ways but is not able to raise the money. Eventually, Rambabu sees another match and makes his marriage arrangements. In the climax, Govinda Rao realizes his mistake and falls at Rambabu's feet. Then Prasad & Rambabu reveal that all this is their play to make him understand how dangerous the dowry system is. Finally, everything goes well and the movie ends on a happy note with the marriage of Rambabu and Rekha.
