Jeevana Jyothi is a 1988 Telugu drama film, produced by D. Pratap Raju under the Nava Bharath Art Movies banner and directed by Relangi Narasimha Rao. It stars Sarath Babu, Jayasudha, Rajendra Prasad and Kushboo in the lead roles, with music composed by Raj-Koti.[2][3]
Plot
Sridhar (Sarath Babu) and Kalyani (Jayasudha) are an ideal, wealthy and happy couple. But the only thing that troubles them is they do not have children even after 12 years of marriage. Akbar (Rajendra Prasad), an orphan, has worked as a servant in their house from childhood, Kalyani treats him as her own son, even he too feels that she is his mother. Akbar loves and marries his love interest Noorjahan (Kushboo). Meanwhile, Kalyani gets pregnant, but to her misfortune, she loses it and doctors tell her that she cannot conceive again. So, she forces her husband Sridhar and makes him agree to the second marriage with his secretary Nirmala (Mano Chitra). Three of them live very happily, Nirmala gives birth to a baby girl, Kalyani fosters the baby with a lot of love and affection.
But unfortunately, the situations change when Nirmala's mother Durgamma (Jaya Vijaya) a shrewd woman, enters the house and creates differences between Kalyani and Nirmala, which makes Kalyani leave the house. Akbar and Noorjahan accompany her, they leave that city and go far away. Years roll by, Sridhar's daughter marriage is fixed. Knowing this, Kalyani wants to go back, but her health deteriorates. Even then, she moves to the venue. During the time of marriage, Sridhar is bankrupted and is not able to give the dowry. At the same time, Kalyani arrives and gives her diamond wedding chain gifted by her husband and performs the marriage. Finally, Kalyani dies in Sridhar's lap and Akbar performs her last rites.
