Jewish Buddhist

A Jubu (also Jewish Buddhist, Jewbu, Jew-Bu, Jewboo, Buju, Jewddist, etc.) is a person, very often American, with a Jewish background, who practices forms of Buddhist-linked meditation and spirituality. Their interest may be in meditation rather than Buddhism or religion. (In those cases where the individual practices a religion, this may be both Judaism and Buddhism, but often Jewish is an ethnic designation and the person's main religious practice is Buddhism.)

The term Jubu was first brought into wide circulation with the publication of The Jew in the Lotus (1994) by Rodger Kamenetz.
