Chaubara (Urdu: چَوبارہ ), (Punjabi: تحصیل چوبارا), is a tehsil located in Layyah District, Punjab, Pakistan.[2] The market town of Chaubara is the headquarters of the tehsil.

Tehsil Chaubara has the largest of any tehsil in Layyah District.

Tehsil Chaubara consists of 7 union councils i.e. Nawankot, Khaira wala, Jamal choupre, Shear Garh, Rafique Abad, Aulaq thal kalan and Chaubara.

Peoples

People of Tehsel Chaubara are very simple, honest, hospitable, courageous, hard-working and patriotic.

People wear the shalwar and kameaz. They also wear lungi instead of shalwar as a traditional dress and they wear Pagri or Pattca as their traditional dress and this is considered as an honour for them. They also wear sindhi cap and put Ajrak or Saraiki Ajrak on their shoulder in their traditional dress.

Whereas girls wear Dopata and Burqa and they wear shalwar, Qameaz of different designs. They also use traditional jewelry for their beauty.

Almost all peoples are Muslims.

Most common castes are Gill, Bajwa Cheema Pathan(Pukhtoon) Lashari Baloch,Aarbi Baloch, Panwar of Rajpoot clan,LAIL (Jatt Lail), (in other Districts Like Bhakkar this caste in known as LEEL), known as Malik, Bappi, Magsi, Joiyea, Jagwal, Tanvarea, cheana, Goraya,Sial, Bhati (Darkhan, Pawli, Nae), Bhook, Mochi, Nahraa, Garwah, Saharan, Kheara, etc.

Education

Less education but there are many doctors Dr. M. Nawaz Hamid Goraya, veterinarians Dr. Mohsan Ullah Goraya, Dr. Roman Saghir. Dr. Murtaza, professors, teachers, advocates, etc.There are several famous schools which helped to increase the education rate like Govt High School Choubara, Govt High School Rehmanabad, Govt High School Nwan Kot, Azam Public school, The Educators, Zubair Kids Campus,degree college for boys,degree college for girls,commeris college chaubara.

>Language

Saraiki is a famous local language, almost all people speak this. But Urdu, Punjabi and English are also spoken.

Music

Saraiki folk music is popular and Pakistani music is also played.

Saraiki cultural Jhumar is most famous in this region.

Occupations

Most people are farmers by profession and raise domestic animals for milk and meat. Small ruminants are basic source of income, and black and white grams are the most cultivated crops in this area. Wheat and cotton are also grown. This area has great potential for forest cultivation. Under-soil water is favorable for cultivation to some extent. Wheat is second major crop which is lack behind just due to shortage of water. People are awaiting for Thal greater canal for generations. This canal will irrigate large area of land which will help to alleviate the local production as well as GDP.

Many people also serve in government jobs in different fields.

Weather

Weather is relatively hot but nights in the desert of Thal are cold even in summer.

Desert

There are dunes of sand and there is a beautiful scene come to tehsil Choubara with the unmeasured desert everywhere.

Thal desert jeep rally and Camel dance festival

The Thal Jeep desert rally and camel dance festival occurs every year. And peoples from different areas come to participate and watch.
