Santa Margarida is a village in the mid-north of São Tomé Island in São Tomé and Príncipe and is in the mid-northeast of the Me-Zochi District. Its population is 390 (2008 est.).[1] It is connected with the branch road connecting the Secondary Route 4, by track, it is linked with Madalena directly.
Nearby places include Madalena to the northeast,.Ototo to the east, Alice to the southwest and Benfica de Santa Margarida to the west.
Santa Margarita has its own hospital and serves the east of the district.
Santa Margarida also has its own football (soccer) team, a member of the island's football association which currently plays in the regional Third Division. It also has its own field located in the south, the field is also used by another lesser club known as Ototó, the settlement is located to the east.
