São Nicolau is a village in the central part of São Tomé Island in São Tomé and Príncipe. Its 2008 population is 100.[1] The settlement is situated off the terminus of the National Route 3 at Pousada, it is linked with a track connected a small paved branch road with other parts of the island and the road to Bom Sucesso. It is a mountainous village and is situated not far from Obo Natural Park to the west. Northeast is Monte Café and south is Aguas Belas.
As with that portion of the island, the surrounding landscape consists of rainforest and wildlife is dominant. Its species that was first founded is Chilades sanctithomae, a butterfly founded in that portion of the island, once dominant throughout.
Plantations are rarely founded today but agriculture remains to be the only economy.
